Bluffton new home

Moving is not easy. We've done this before 4 years ago but I think we made the right decision. My husband got a job transfer here in Grand Junction area. Instead of buying our own house, we first decided to find a house to rent and stay for a year then if we like the place, we will stay here for good. Our house in Silverthorne was for sale that time and it takes about more than a year before someone bought our house. My friend also who live in South Carolina just moved two years ago and guess what? They moved in a nice place! She showed me their bluffton new home, it was really nice. I bet they are very happy to their new place! She also recommend me the Hilton head new home and Savannah New Home. There is also the Affordable Hilton Head Community and Affordable Savannah Community. If you are looking homes at this area, you might want to visit villageparkhomes.com. They offer free monthly e-newsletter and you can contact them if you any questions. Visit now and start find your dream home!

Playing farmville...

Yay! it's already 12 midnight and I am still wide awake! Everyone was sleeping and I think I need a coffee to drink to keep me awake. I still need to finish my last task for the day. I also need to play farmville and finish harvesting my crops. I just got a co-op job and I have 1 day to go to finish my job so that I can get a medal hehe :-) If you play farmville at facebook, please ad me up! I still need more neighbor! Have a great day!

Downtown girl

Guest post written by Cassie Jenkins

I’m a downtown girl. No, I’m not on the new MTV reality series called “Downtown Girls,” but like the stars of it, I dwell in downtown New York City.

Moving here was a dream of mine since my family and I took a vacation here when I was 12. It was so different than our lives in suburban Atlanta that I decided to move there right there and then.

Once I pulled together some savings after I graduated from college I moved there with two of my sorority sisters that also had aspirations of the City and we got a tiny apartment on our minimal budgets. That only made me more aware of getting the best deals on necessities that we needed like High Speed Internet and TV. So we did our homework like good college graduates and read about Internet TV Bundles that would help save us a pretty penny.

We narrowed it down and settled on the provider we have now. Now worrying about making it in the City isn’t so bad that we have enough extra money left out for drinks.

A Match Dress...

This is the first time that I made a match dress for me, for my little girl Dana and for her little Dolly. I think 3 1/2 yard fabric is enough for the 3 of us! I'm glad I got a good deal for fabric. I got it from garage sale and I have one more fabric left and its 2 1/3 yard. I think this is enough to make another two dress for Dana.

The Pink Dress

Look at my little girl here. She's playing with my computer! She seems having fun! She loves to imitate me. She looks very pretty in the pink dress I made for her. I'm glad it perfectly fit in her.

Learn to play piano

In my family, none of them play instruments. The only thing I remember is that my father love to sing and join singing contest. Unlike in my husband sides, his family love to play instruments to drums, guitar and piano. My husband love to play guitar since when he was a kid and he play piano too. His brother becomes a drummer in his young age. I bet Dustin will love to learn to play piano. He is in that age where he wants to explore things. He will turn 5 next year January 2nd and we’re planning to get him a piano lesson. We need to find a cheap piano to start. Something that he can play and make himself busy. I think learning to play piano is good at his age. I see kids playing piano at their early age and they are really good! Dustin just need to practice and I bet he could learn fast! He is a smart boy and I know he would love it!

Big space...

We just took the sliding door in the kitchen this morning and the patio is almost done! It looks better than before... We have so much space in the kitchen now! I can't wait to see when it finished. We still need to do the painting and put dry wall to cover the area. We still have lot of things to do. As of now, we need to keep the dog in the patio and make it sure that the screen door is closed so that the fly and mosquitos won't come in.

Watching the race with Grandpa

Guest post written by Jeff Noble

Racing is something we take seriously in our family. My dad has always followed his favorite drivers religiously, including the Earnhardt family, and weekend afternoons during race season are always spent in front of the living room TV.

I definitely inherited the race gene and my 8-year-old son watches the events with us, asking Grandpa which is “his” driver and how many laps are left to go. But Dad is always happy to answer and tell stories about races he’s been to.

In fact, he’s been to so many races that that’s probably why his hearing has gotten so bad over the years. I guess I started noticing it once he started turning up races so loud on the TV that I couldn’t hear myself think and made him look into digital hearing devices. But now, thankfully, he wears a hearing aid so that I can watch the race with him without having to shout over the hum of the cars like I do when we’re actually at a race. That’s the only part I always hated about racing, how loud those cars are! I sure don’t need for my own hearing to get worse and don’t want to worry about my son’s either.

Small town Safety

Guest post written by Lorraine Holbert.

I live in a very small town where everyone seems to know everyone, however the crime rate just keeps going up no matter what we do to make our neighborhood watch more effective. Without constant patrol something is bound to happen and this worries me considering I have three small children. One of the things that we did to make our home safer, is installing a home alarm from a security alarm company in Seattle. We now feel more safe when we are at home and we feel like our home is more safe when we are away. Another thing we do to make the neighborhood safer, is talking to our neighbors regularly about things that happen around the town. Knowing what is going on is one of the best things to have yourself prepared for the things that can happen. If you have a good relationship with your neighbors, then when something is going on, you will have someone to help look out for you and your family. They will be happy to look after your home because you are looking after theirs as well.

Its me wearing the dress i made!

I am wearing it now! I sew this dress yesterday and made one also for Dana's dolly. I didn't start Dana's clothes that match with my dress yet, but I will this week. This dress is the same style I made for Dana's dress few days ago, the pink and flowery purple dress. This is perfect in summer! I just need to wear something under it :-) I want to try to make a skirt for me to wear since I still have more fabric to use for my sewing. What do you think?

Entertainment centers

My husband wants to watch movie today and relax for the day, but he get frustrated to find out that our DVR won’t work. I am not sure what happen because I didn’t use the DVR for couple of months now, maybe the kids did something with it. He try to fix it and I’m glad it did fix. Everything is okay now and everyone is happy watching the movie Avatar. We watched that movie many times and we can’t get enough with it. That was an awesome movie! If we own a new entertainment centers, I am sure we can more enjoy watching movies on weekdays or in weekends.

Basketball Leagues

Thanks to my friend Alex Jones for the guest post.

Every summer, I join a local basketball league. This is one of the best ways to stay in shape during those summer months, especially for children or adults in school. No matter what age you are, staying in shape is critical to your health. Investing in your health for a lifetime has never been easier than joining a summer basketball league.

My recommendations for playing basketball during the summertime is to wait until around 7:00 or 8:00 when it starts to get dark outside. If you can't join a summer team, then try to get neighborhood basketball scrimmages started every night. In the evening, you are less likely to suffer from dehydration or sunstroke.

After my basketball team is done for the day, typically we head back to one of home's to watch a movie. On a satellite television with a clear screen, watching a movie feels just like the movie theater. The key with having a successful summer is balancing work and play. Be sure to stay in shape with sports like basketball. But, also be sure to give your body the rest it needs to recuperate.

Basketball is a great sport to play during the summer. I love to watch the basketball championships in the summer, and I can find out what channels they are on from Www.Tvbydirect.Com .

Two pretty dress I made...

This is the two dress I sew yesterday, the same style with different color. It is a backless dress. Very pretty and perfect for summer! It looks good in Dana, she looks so adorable! If you like this dress, I can make some more with the same design, I have more fabric to make. If you order one its $10 each.

disconnected...

Isn't that frustrated when you get disconnected in the middle when you do something online like shopping, playing games or even pay the bills. My computer does that, I am not sure what's the problem is but maybe the router or the computer itself. I am using our desktop right now because I don't have connection in my laptop. I am doing a quick update in my blog and do research about system memory. Good thing I found what I am looking for. If you are looking for system memory, you might want to visit buy.com, they have huge selection of memory in a great prices!

electric grills

Summer is a perfect time to grill. Actually grilling is not my thing because I never tried to grill before when I was in the Philippines but when I met my husband and have kids, I learned a lot of things about cooking and grilling. Grilling is fun! I usually grill hamburgers, tomatoes, onions and other meat and vegetables. It's nice to grill especially when the weather is nice, sunny and cloudy. When it rains? Instead of grilling, I just fry the hamburgers or change my plan and prepare easy dinner without using the grill, that's why I told my husband that we need an electric grill. I found a cheap electric grills at the store and hopefully we can get one this year. Will see...

Interactivity Important for Online Classes

This post was written by my close friend Kyle Lammert

As a part of my undergraduate courses, I took a class online. This was incredibly convenient for me, since I was a commuter student; the least time I had to spend on campus, the better. I had hughes net in CA at the time; I don't think I would have wanted to do it with dial-up. Something high-speed is really necessary with all those file downloads so you definitely want good satellite internet service if you plan on doing it.

The class was in "business management". I think that honestly I could have taken this class any way it was offered and gotten straight A's even if I didn't go to class. It was all common sense. I kind of think that if you've done any reading of the management nonfiction titles that have come out in the last few years, any class on business management will seem old hat. On the up side, I was able to be really helpful to some of my classmates by recommending that this concept was explained better in a book they could pick up at the library. The content was mostly provided in text, but we had to upload assignments every week.

Would I do it again? I don't know. The convenience mattered more to me than other considerations at the time. If I did it again, I'd look for a class that had more of an interactive component, like video lectures and chat.

I finished two dress for Dana!

I can't believe I made it! I am so happy with the outcome of the blue dress I made for my little girl Dana. I don't have any pattern, so I am just using my imagination to create a simple dress made of the jeans fabric. Actually the fabric I used is the curtain we have in our computer room and since we are not using it anymore, I decided to cut it and made Dana a dress. Here is the two dress I made for the day... What you think?

Dana wearing bandana

My husband love to wear bandana especially if it's hot out. Since Dana always see his Dad wearing it, now he demands to wear bandana, she cry if I didn't put it on. Look at her at this photo, bandana looks good in her... she got a big round eyes. Very pretty hehe :-) Love you baby!

Yahoo Kids!

Guest post written by Tia Stanhope

It’s amazing what the computer can do these days. Our family recently signed up for internet service with hughesnet CA, and our kids are especially happy we did. Yahoo kids is one of the best websites available for kids to safely play around with games and watch videos. This website offers a variety of activities all directed towards kids. There are activities for kids of all ages and many games that are aimed towards education. With so many videos on this website for kids to watch, it is a great place for kids to log in and spend time online. Using our hughesnet satellite internet, my kids are able to log in and spend hours watching videos, playing games or listening to music. There are new songs uploaded on a weekly basis that kids can listen to and watch videos of.

My kids love logging in and getting to find information on the latest movies that are coming out. Often times, my kids spend a good deal of time watching everything related to a new movie before going to see it. It’s a great way to get their interests up and keep them occupied in a safe and controlled environment.

Another popular part of the website is the jokes section. My kids love getting on and finding new jokes that they can share with their friends and family. Each day they log in to find cute jokes for kids that they can tell over and over again. Thanks to hughesnetinternet, our kids are entertained for hours all while learning!

Football Season

Thanks to my friend Alex Hartman for the guest post.

I remember when I was a kid how excited we here when Dad brought home our first ever VCR. I remember thinking how nothing will ever beat it. Then a couple years ago I picked to get the DVR my ExpertSatellite.com offered. Let me tell you, it felt ever better than that first VCR.

It is incredibly easy to record the shows you want. Best of all it's easy to tell the DVR to record automatically whenever a new episode of one of my favorite TV shows. The ability to pause and rewind the show as it is live is another great feature.

During football season the 1 o'clock football games on Sunday now have a 2 o'clock kick off time in my house. I fast forward through the commercials, and sometimes through a good part of the half time show. Usually late in the first quarter I am caught up with the live action. This works out good because I don't have to worry about anyone calling and spoiling the ending for me. It's great to know I skipped an hour of commercials during the game.

My wife does the same thing during the reality TV shows she watches. She'll just start watching the show 20 minutes after it starts and she basically ends up seeing the ending the exact same time as everyone else, except she didn't watch all those commercials
